As a cisgender woman, this movie is hard to watch. The protagonist's character development is largely based on her sexual encounters with men, and the main subject of the film — what it means to be a color — does not resonate with me. This film is very difficult and contains some disturbing scene in which the protagonist (a lesbian) is raped by a man and subsequently commits suicide. It's not something I'm open about seeing, but someone who might want to see it should be able to do so without too much harm. If you're willing, check out this movie for educational purposes only! It has such an interesting plot that deserves some credit for that alone. The movie is about a girl who falls in love with another girl. She is confused, she tries to find out what it means to be gay. Then she goes through discrimination, violence and so on... It's Really A Beautiful Movie. Everybody Should Watch It.
